Certificates will be sent through post/courier to the college address only if the number of participants from a college is equal to or more than 10.

Certificates will be made available only after the final round of MicrobiOlympiad.

MicrobiOlympiad is a National Level Competition for  undergraduate students those belong to life science streams – specifically from Microbiology, Biotechnology fields – where we honour the winners with certificate, medal and prize money. We choose top three rank holders from top 10 colleges through a nation-wide screening test called MicrobioLogical Contest.

The exam is held online. Registered participants appear for the exam. The exam can be given through internet-enabled computer or mobile. Owing to pandemic condition this, the exam could be conducted online through our mobile app or website.

We have conducted offline (pen-paper) tests for several years. As technology progressed, we felt that we take advantage of it. It saves thousands of papers besides that it makes the system more transparent and the process much faster than the traditional exam pattern. Through this, participants get their score within an hour of submission of exam.

The online exam system is completely robust backed up by Google services. The only thing participant need to make sure is that they have internet-enabled system (PC/mobile) at the time of examination in the exam hall. In case of mobile, make sure that mobile signal is of good quality at the place of examination.

We have a system in place that identifies if a student is using any inappropriate ways during the exam such as opening another tab/browser on PC/mobile. If found so, the participant will be debarred from the event. Certificate to such participant will not be given.

Any regular student of FYBSc, SYBSc and TYBSc with Microbiology / Biotechnology / Biochemistry / Zoology / Botany / Life Science as one of his/her principle or subsidiary subject is eligible for this contest.

MicrobioLogical Contest and MicrobiOlympiad are held every year in the month of January/February. MicrobiOlympiad is held generally 10-15 days after initial screening test – MicrobioLogical Contest. You may view the actual date on their respective web pages.

Fill our online registration form and submit the requisite fees mentioned on our event page. If you don’t see your college name in the registration form, call Prof. Kamlesh Kurankar on 97-63163-007.

There is no way to re-take the exam. As we have given all the instructions regarding internet availability, we can’t offer any refund in this case.

MicrobiOlympiad will be held at a pre-decided place with face-to-face quiz competition. There will be several rounds including MCQs, image and video based questions, Reasoning questions, fast-finger questions, etc. The pattern however may change without any notification. Winners are announced and awarded on the same day.

Please note that this year if the conditions are not favorable, the MicrobiOlympiad final phase will be conducted online through live meeting.

The second round of MicrobiOlympiad is a team event. The team consists of 3 participants chosen through a merit list.

To create the merit list for the final round we take the average of the top three students from each college from each year (FY, SY and TY)

So if the number of students is less than 3, we will not consider such college/year for merit list as it does not fit in our criteria.

MicrobioLogical Contest and MicrobiOlympiad is currently only for B.Sc. (under-graduate) Students.

For M.Sc. (Post-graduate) students we have MicrobioCanvas, MicrobioPodium, MicrobioSlate competitions.

MicrobioCanvas is an Artwork / poster competition for Under-graduate and Post-graduate students. We provide theme for which the participant can draw a self-conceptualized poster which will be evaluated and award is given. This is an optional competition i.e. not compulsory for every participant of MicrobiOlympiad. Separate registration is required for MicrobioCanvas.
